Mind Revealed

The word Psychedelics was first used by British psychiatrist Humphry Osmond in a letter to Aldous Huxley, from the Greek "psyche," meaning mind or soul, and "delos," meaning to manifest or reveal.Pharmacologically, the word psychedelics (previously called Hallucinogens) refer to substances like Psilocybin, LSD , DMT, Ibogaine and several less known other molecules. These compounds create fluid mental states where our thought patterns and beliefs about the world, our lives, and our self-narratives feel more malleable. Here lies a valuable chance to see things from new perspectives.

"Psychedelics are to the study of the mind what the microscope is to biology and the telescope is to astronomy"- Stanislav Grof, MD

How do psychedelics work?

Different theories have been advanced to answer this intriguing question. One common theme is that the activity within Default Mode Network (DMN), a network of brain regions associated with self-referential thoughts, ego, and identity, is significantly reduced. By dampening activity in this network, psychedelics can induce a state of ego dissolution, leading to experiences of interconnectedness and unity.A compelling hypothesis known Entropic Brain Theory states that Psychedelics increase the brain's entropy, or the degree of randomness and disorder in neural activity. This increase in entropy would lead to a breakdown of rigid patterns of thought and perception, allowing for the emergence of novel insights and experiences. In other words, when used appropriately psychedelics offer an opportunity to "release" certain tendencies and pre-dispositions that we have acquired through consciously (or unconscious) repetition.

How are psychedelics used?

One important distinction is based on the amount of substance consumed.
A full psychedelic dose is often consumed in a retreat setting assisted by trained facilitators or in the comfort of your home assisted by an experienced friend or sitter.
The experience changes significantly as you increase the dose.Microdosing refers to a fractional dose consumed on a weekly basis, depending on the protocol you decide to implement.I am here to help you prepare appropriately, understand the risks involved in using psychedelics, make informed decisions on wether this tool is appropriate for you and ultimately get the best out of your inner journeys.

Macrodosing with psychedelics involves consuming larger, perceptually altering doses of substances like DMT, LSD or psilocybin mushrooms.Unlike microdosing, which focuses on subtle effects, macrodosing aims to induce profound non-ordinary states of consciousness, often for therapeutic or spiritual purposes. This practice, when approached with caution and respect, can offer insights, healing, and transformative experiences, guiding you on profound journeys of self-discovery and personal growth. One can identifty three phases:

  • Preparation, as the word suggests, involves thorough mental, emotional, and physical preparation before the psychedelic experience. It includes setting intentions, creating a safe and comfortable environment, and addressing any concerns or anxieties. Preparation may also involve dietary considerations, such as fasting, setting aside dedicated time for the experience and choosing the appropriate sitter or facilitator.

  • Dosing involves ingesting the psychedelic substance and entering into the journey it induces. This phase is often characterized by intense sensory experiences, profound insights, and potentially challenging emotions or thoughts. It's essential to approach dosing with respect, mindfulness, and proper guidance to maximize the therapeutic and transformative potential of the experience.

  • Integration is the crucial phase following the psychedelic experience, where You reflect on and integrate insights gained during the journey into your daily life. This phase involves processing emotions, reflecting on experiences, and implementing positive changes based on newfound perspectives. Integration may include practices such as journaling, therapy, meditation, and lifestyle adjustments to support ongoing growth and transformation.
